Chris is the new director of the Kunstverein München.
His young but substantial career has developed around the globe: from San Francisco to Oaxaca, from Antwerp to Munich. His very first exhibitions – a generous retrospective on the work of belgien visual artist Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven and already three – more dynamic shows – at the Schaufenster am Hofgarten, suggest his program is going to be influential in the current developments in the capital of Bavaria.
„Generally, in other cities, art weekends serve as an attempt to catalyze a local scene and bring the activities of different spaces into a singular view. Cross-overs between them are healthy to this effect, so long as they are happening for the right reasons.“
„To gain a better sense of what the various galleries and museums are doing, which is an ongoing pursuit, the art weekend is always a good thing.“
„The Arkadendinner at Kunstverein München is an annual fundraising dinner and a good example of the special activities happening that week. It is situated at a very long table beneath the arcades of the Hofgarten. It is open to all of our members at a special price, but anyone may come if they purchase a seat. It is a great way for our members to meet other members and for anyone who would like to support the programming here at the Kunstverein.“
„Live music, good food and wine from Schumann’s, a special performance by Egle Budvytyte and some other special surprises during the dinner that I can’t disclose: This year’s Arkadendinner will be the first I’ve attended but I already can tell, it promises a lot of fun.“
