For me, this blog has always been about the people. I wanted to shoot interesting and inspiring people and of course, clothing style was a helpful criterion for the selection of my ‚models‘. Thus, STYLE/CLICKER became a fashion blog and working as a professional blogger my job for the past five years. As in any job, after a while you want to develop further, acquire new skills, take new challenges, maybe even reinvent yourself…
I took the decision to focus on my career as a photographer from now on. I want to earn my living by taking photos which is my great love, not by selling advertising on this blog! Instead, this blog should become a truly personal project again. I want to fill it with content that matters to me on the first hand. And if others like it too, that’s awesome.
For some time now, I have been fascinated by shooting in black & white again like in the very beginning of my analog photo days. And I also played around converting some of my old color Styleclicker pics into b&w. I found the results stunning! It seemed like a whole new perspective of how to look at those images: the concentration on the subjects, no distraction by colors, somehow time- and placeless. Just light, shape and pattern – and the people. There is a certain stillness in those photos that I love. A great contrast to the huzzle and buzzle of the fashion world, and also our everyday lives.
I wanted to show you by posting some of those ’new old photos‘. From now on, I will post new ones, always the portrait first. So if you find a face interesting you might click on the photo to see the full body shot and the person’s style as a whole. Enjoy!
